With over 19 years in production the Audi TT has proven to be a success and remains a popular choice for those looking for a thrill. Audi have refined the TT over the years to a point where the car handles beautifully and is a pleasure to drive.
Audi debuted the second-generation TT, internal designation Type 8J, on 6 April 2006, using the Volkswagen Group A5 platform with aluminium front body panels, and steel in the rear, to enhance its near-neutral front-to-rear weight distribution. Available in front wheel drive or "quattro" four-wheel drive layout. The TT was again offered as a 2+2 Coupé, and as a two-seater Roadster. The second generation was five inches longer and three inches wider than its predecessor. Factory production commenced during August 2006.
This car has a six-speed Direct-Shift Gearbox known as "S-TRONIC". with Quattro on-demand four-wheel drive, again using the Haldex Traction clutch, with the V6 3,200cc re-badged VR6 engine. This TT also features a revised rear spoiler which preserves the clean aesthetics of the TT when not raised. The spoiler automatically deploys at 125 km/h (78 mph) to increase down-force, and retracts again below 80 km/h (50 mph). The spoiler can be manually controlled via a switch on the lower centre console.
